News about City of Lights 2021

With a heavy heart, and after much discussion and consideration, the team that brings you Truro's City of Lights has decided to not proceed with the lantern parade in 2021.

This is not an easy decision to make, the parade holds a special place in the hearts of so many people within Turro's community, not just the artists and volunteers who work with us to bring the streets of Truro alive with lanterns and music for one magical winter evening of the year.

Our creative team has been in demand this year. Our artists have been happy to lend their expertise to a number of community projects across Cornwall and further afield. So, while you're waiting to see us light up the streets of Truro again, please look out for our lanterns popping up across the South West at smaller events. You may have seen our lanterns at Tunes in the Dunes in Perranporth, or September's Par-Tee event.

At this time, we plan for Truro City of Lights to return to the streets of Truro in 2022. Keep an eye on our blog for important updates and if you follow us on social media, we release news first to Facebook as this is a great way to reach many within our community, quickly.
